| THERE was no 'wooden spoon' but a much coveted, prestigious shield to mark Summerhill's domination in the U-16 Connacht Schools Rugby Blitz at Garbally College, Galway, on Wednesday, March 25th. A majestic performance by a committed, determined U-16 Summerhill team ensured a marvellous triumph on the day. Their final opponents proved to be the familiar rivals - the Grammar School, Sligo. Yet, from the initial onslaught of a skilled tactical Summerhill team whose opportunism and attack proved inspiratiotial, the Grammar never had a chance. Final score Summerhill 10, the Grammar 0 The U-13 rugby team provided exuberant support on the day to boost their comrades on pitch. This young team are already showing great determination and potential for the future, having been narrowly defeated in the U-i 3 semi-final two weeks ago. Today, Wednesday, April 1st, these young challengers will play in a blitz at the same venue. Special thanks to Mr. P.
